If you have something you need to dice (say, an onion), a quick way to do it is to make a bunch of parallel slits that don't quite make it to the end of the veggie you are slicing. Turn it 90 degrees and do the same thing. Voila! Most of the veggie is nicely diced, and you should end up with only a small bit to finish off.

This is definitely a great tip. Another benefit is that you have a "tail" to hold onto that will not come apart while you are doing the other cuts. I like to use this with things like onions, rutabagas, turnips and potatoes.

Very good tip! This is usually how I dice. I don't enjoy dicing or cutting up much of anything, so I see it as a chore. If everything was diced for me, I probably would cook more!
Plus... I probably need some really good knives so I would ENJOY how well they cut things up.

I got a Magic Bullet for Christmas and I am just beginning to realize I can use it to chop. I have literally been halfway through dicing up an onion when it dawns on me that I could have used my Magic Bullet.
Of course, when it comes to using the MB to make smoothies, I have that down pat LOL
