The wait was well worth it... the ChefClub 2008 Pasta Contest ended with fireworks! Not only does the winner receive a $50 Amazon Gift Card, but they are crowned our 1st Ever UNANIMOUS winner!

And now... our 2008 Pasta Recipe Contest Winners are... (drum roll)...

Cavatelli Black Spice Shrimp Bowl


Unfortunately we weren't able to use Cavatelli but substituting Rigatoni worked perfectly... after all this recipe was our first ever unanimous winner. All of our judges raved about this dish and we'll definitely putting this in our "go to" repertoire... and next time we'll use Cavatelli!

Crab and Goat Cheese Shells with Drunken Tomato Sauce

Everyone really, really enjoyed the concept of this dish and it tasted great although we did have a few little changes we'd like to try. The recipe didn't call to cover the top of the shells with sauce, only putting sauce at the BOTTOM of the baking dish. We wanted to follow the recipe, but as we anticipated, the surface of the shells was a bit dry. Our judges also weren't too fond of the red sauce and a different sauce recipe could have changed the course of the contest!

Luxurious Four-Cheese Macaroni & Cheese

A little bit strong on the Blue Cheese, this Mac & Cheese was certainly a unique take on the age-old favorite but we felt that cutting back on the Blue Cheese would do a lot of good. It WAS a 4-Cheese recipe but the 1 cheese seemed to overpower the rest.

Mostaccioli Broccoli Bake

A valiant effort from perennial contest finalist, JMW. But the pasta contest competition was stiff and the Mostaccioli Broccoli Bake brought up the rear of the contest.
