Jack-O'-Lantern Cake

Needed for cake:
2 (10 inch) Bundt Cakes
Buttercream Frosting (recipe below)
Orange and green paste food colors or food coloring
Black decorating icing in tube with writing tip (I use Betty Crocker brand)
Candy corn
1 (6oz) paper cup or 1 ice cream wafer cone

Prepare 2 recipes of Buttercream Frosting. Remove 1 1/2 cups and place in small bowl. To tint frosting, add small amount of desired paste color or food coloring. You will tint the large bowl Orange, the small bowl will be tinted green.

Trim flat sides of cakes. Place one cake on platter, flat side up. Frost this flat side with some of the orange frosting. Place second cake, flat side down on frosting.

Frost entire cake with orange.

Hold cup of wafer cone over fingers of one hand - frost with green frosting. Place upside down in center of cake to form pumpkin stem.

Using writing tip and black frosting in tube, pipe eyes and mouth. Arrange candy corn for teeth.

Recipe for Buttercream Frosting:
6 cups powdered suger, sifted and divided
3/4 cups butter, softened
1/2 cup shortening
6-8 Tablespoons milk, divided
1 teaspoon vanilla

Combine 3 cups powdered sugar, butter, shortening, 4 Tablespoons milk and vanilla in large bowl. Beat with electric mixer until smooth. Add remaining powdered suger, beat until light & fluffy, adding more milk, 1 Tablesppon at a time as needed for for good spreading consistency.

ENJOY!!
